Join us for our monthly Dive Against Debris!  We started this tradition Sep. 2018 during Project Aware month.  We will be meeting at Bayshore Beach near the intersection of Division and Bayshore Dr. in Long Beach, CA on Los Alamitos Bay. We will be discussing methods of maintaining buddy contact throughout the dive, safe methods of removing debris, when to leave debris behind, when to take it and what materials are more important than others to remove. We will also be discussing the issue of marine life on the debris and how that impacts the choice of leaving the debris behind or taking it with you.

After the dive, we will sort through the debris and categorize it to report it into Project Aware.

Dive Against Debris Diver Certification will be offered as part of this event. As this is an ocean health initiative, we aim to keep costs as low as possible. Dive Against Debris certification is $40 which includes a $10 donation to Project Aware and a special edition certification card.

If you have already completed your Dive Against Debris specialty certification, please email (info@jadescubaadventures.com) a copy of your certification card. This training can count toward your Master Scuba Diver and Advanced Open Water certifications.

Jade Scuba Adventures will provide mesh bags for each dive team. If you have your own, you are welcome to bring your own.

Not a diver? Thats okay! Come on out and clean up the beach while we clean up the ocean. Both are important!
